Saddle Up 'N' Read Graphics / Book List

Bookmarks (Front & Back)

I bring one of these bookmarks for each student at your school:

Posters

I send you three of these 18" x 24" posters to post around the school to publicize your program.  (Let me know if you would like more than three.)  They really help build excitement about the "big day."  The white bar is an area for you to write the date, time, and/or location of your programs, or any other information you'd like to pass on.

Printable Graphic

This is similar to the poster, but it doesn't have the white bar.  If you're printing reading certificates or other forms and you can use this as a starting point, you're welcome to use it.    Just copy and paste it into whichever program you're using.

Press Release

"Cowboy Curt needs help finding his time-traveling bunny!  She's gone into the past, but did she go back to the time of Lewis and Clark and their Indian friend Sacagawea? Or did she travel back to the time of the Declaration of Independence to learn about George Washington and Benjamin Franklin? Or maybe... she's hanging out with Francis Drake, the dreaded pirate who sailed off the coast of Oregon and Washington.

Curt and his friends have been entertaining children all over the Northwest with their unique program of magic, puppets, and story-telling. Come see why teachers are calling his programs "the best educational assembly I've ever seen!" Your children will laugh at the antics of Roosevelt Rat (a puppet) and will be amazed as Leanne the Magic Bunny disappears from the time machine and suddenly appears in an old photograph. And they’ll never forget the moment when a drawing of the notorious pirate Francis Drake comes to life and begins talking to them with a voice from the past!

For more information, visit www.slightlyillusional.com, or come to your location at time on your date to see Cowboy Curt, Roosevelt, and Leanne the Magic Bunny perform their Saddle Up 'N' Read! assembly."

Book List

You'll receive a hard-copy of this book list in the information packet I mail about a month before the program.

Books Featured in the “Saddle Up ‘N’ Read!”

History Program

Note: I remind students during the program that they can check out a book similar to the ones listed.  Topics that I discuss in this program include the Dewey Decimal system, graphic novels, books in a series, histories, biographies, time travel, the Declaration of Independence, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, Christopher Columbus, Lewis and Clark, Sacagawea, pirates (especially Francis Drake), treasure maps, sign language, bunny rabbits, and magic tricks. I may not get through all those subjects, but I’ll try.
